One miner was killed and 22 injured in a gas explosion at a coal mine near the central Bosnian town of Travnik, police said on Thursday. Rescuers evacuated all 25 miners from the coal mine Abid Lolic after the explosion late on Wednesday, a spokesman for the central Bosnian cantonal police told Reuters. Fourteen miners were kept in nearby hospitals but their lives were not in danger, media reported. Police spokesman Muraif Husic said the investigation into the cause of the explosion was under way. He did not elaborate but local media reported that the methane gas exploded at the mine.
