Deputy Chairman of the Shoura Council Eng. Mahmoud bin Abdullah Taibah received at his office in Riyadh today a delegation of the US State Department, led by Ambassador at Large for World Religious Freedom John Hanford, currently on a visit to the Kingdom. Following the meeting, Taibah said Islamic religion has guaranteed religious freedom to others according to relevant verses of the holy Quran, confirming that Islam believes in co-existence of different races of people. On his part, Hanford said the insult to Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) by Danish media was an irresponsible act that reflects ignorance of the Islamic religion. He lauded the Kingdom's rational positions and the services it was rendering to Muslims all over the world. He added that the meeting also discussed a number of issues of mutual concern. Some members of the Shoura Council attended the meeting.
