The Jeddah Economic Forum (JEF) constitutes a forward step on a long path of works by individuals and establishments to bring about economic and social development, according to Prince Abdulmajeed Bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Makkah region. In an inaugural address at the Seventh Jeddah Economic Forum, which was read on his behalf by Prince Abdullah Bin Fahd Bin Mohammad Al-Saud, the undersecretary of the Governorate of Makkah region for security affairs, Prince Abdulmajeed said "This contemporary world does not tolerate isolation, but at the same time it recognizes diversity of cultures, and subsequently the success of the development plans depends on such a balance." Prince Abdul Majeed said dialogue and intellectual exchange were essential for economic progress. "Means of dialogue and intellectual exchange will contribute to the process of economic and social building for the future," the governor said.
