Twelve Turkish tourists were killed in Rome on Monday when a bus careered off a steep road, plunged down a hill and into an apartment block's garden, police said. Another 18 people, most of them Turks, were injured in the crash, which occurred just after midnight on a winding road in a neighborhood on Rome's outskirts. Four were in serious condition. The dead were six men and six women, police said. The cause of the accident was not immediately known, Reuters reported. The group, part of a delegation of Turks attending a convention, were returning to their hotels after a reception at a villa near the site of the crash.
