The Secretariat General of the Arab Organization for the Red Crescent and Cross stressed that publication by a Danish newspaper of cartoons blasphemous to the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) or the issuing of publications or books insulting the prophets of God or divine religions are offensive to God and His messengers and a violation of the rights of those embracing these religions. In a statement issued today, the organization said that citing the pretext of the freedom of publication by that newspaper is just false excuse. The organization called on the media to play a positive role in promoting peace.
