President General Pervez Musharraf Emphasizing the need to end violence and human rights abuses in the Indian held Kashmir reiterated his proposal of demilitarization in the region to raise the comfort level of Kashmiris. In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day being observed on February 5, the President said an enabling environment was necessary for the success of the peace process between Pakistan and India to resolve the Kashmir issue. President Musharraf in his message further said, the Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed every year to mark the just struggle of the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination and to remember the countless sacrifices of those Kashmiris who had laid down their lives in the struggle to attain their inalienable right to freedom. He was quoted as saying by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) as saying that Pakistan has always extended its moral, political and diplomatic support for a just and peaceful solution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiris. President Musharraf said, "We are engaged in a sincere and purposeful dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues for bold decisions and 'out of box' thinking to resolve this dispute."
