Supplementing statements issued on search and rescue operations following the mishap of the Egyptian ferry "Al-Salam-98" on its journey from the port of Dhiba in the region of Tabuk to the Egyptian port of Safajah, an official source at the Ministry of Interior said the Saudi embassy in Cairo has been informed by Egyptian authorities about the survival of 26 male and female Saudis and that they are under the care of Egyptian authorities. The survivors have been given necessary medical care and were able to contact their families. Meanwhile, a Saudi rescue boat participating in these operations was able to rescue 22 passengers of the ship including two Saudis, and were given necessary care. Search and rescue operations in coordination with Egyptian authorities will continue in line with directives by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
