Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister Nejad Hosseinian has met Pakistan's Minister for Petroleum and National Resources Amanullah Jadoon and discussed the Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project, says an official statement. Jadoon said that the project would promote regional cooperation and open up new avenues of interaction for the mutual advantages. The minister said that the Pakistan government was striving to implement the project as quickly as possible to meet the energy supply-demand gap after 2010. Husseinian thanked Jadoon and the Government of Pakistan for extending warm welcome and hospitality to the Iranian delegation. He said the IPI gas pipeline project would go a long way to bring the member states closer and explore new vistas of bilateral cooperation.
