Saudi Telecom managed to pass through 750 million international calls through its network, a senior company official told The Saudi Gazette Monday. In the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja alone, 750 million incoming and outgoing calls were made through our network, Saad Al-Dhafer, general manager for media relations at Saudi Telecom told The Gazette in a telephone interview. He said Saudi Telecom has a total capacity of 63,000 international circuits, which represent how many concurrent international calls can be made at the same time. Of the 750 million made in the first 10 days of Dhul Hijja, corresponding to the first 10 days of January, said Dhafer, Al-Jawwal subscribers had the lion's share with 70 percent, 18 percent were made by Hatif subscribers and 12 percent by Mobily subscribers. Dhafer added that he expected people to make some 1.6 trillion incoming and outgoing calls during the month of Dhul Hijja alone, as they send the season's greetings to friends and loved ones. --MORE 11 11 Local Time 08 11 GMT
