Hajj is epidemic-free and the health situation is satisfactory, the Saudi Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Man'a reported today. In a meeting with the press at Mina General hospital, the minister said his ministry's efforts cover prevention (prophylaxis), enlightenment and treatment. The ministry has set up 21 hospitals and 124 clinics inside the sacred places, provided with the necessary medial crews and equipment, he said. As for medical insurance, he said the ministry has applied compulsory gradual-insurance system on expatriates, effective June 2005 which will later be applied on citizens.
