China and Pakistan have exchanged document on ratification of friendship treaty, to make it effective forthwith, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported Friday. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and Pakistan ambassador Salman Bashir exchanged the treaty's instrument in Beijing that was inked during Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Islamabad April last year. The instrument of friendship treaty was formally signed by President Hu Jintao and President Pervez Musharraf. Earlier, the Standing Committee of the China's National People's Congress (NPC) and Pakistan's federal cabinet endorsed the document, further cementing their decades' old partnership.
