U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will travel to Indonesia and Australia this week, the State Department announced Tuesday. A statement released by the department said Rice's visit to Indonesia will focus on "support for Indonesia's democratic development." Rice is also expected to coordinate with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on preventing and responding to avian flu and to review progress made in Indonesia's recovery from last year's tsunami. In Australia, Rice is set to hold a session of the U.S.-Japan-Australia Trilateral Strategic Dialogue with Australian and Japanese counterparts. She will also "participate in the first Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate with the Governments of Australia, China, India, Japan, and Korea," the statement said.
