Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister, Inspector General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation General Commission, chaired the first meeting of the board of directors of the commission following the issuance of the cabinet's decision to transform the presidency of the civil aviation to an independent general commission run on commercial basis. During the meeting, the crown prince delivered a speech highlighting the importance and progress of civil aviation sector in the kingdom. The crown prince underscored the fact that the board of directors of the commission consists of representatives from the governmental and private sectors. The board's members are: Prince Fahd bin Abdullah, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Civil Aviation Affairs, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Secretary General of Tourism Higher Commission; Abdullah Rahaimi, President of the commission; Salih Albarak, Director General of Customs and representative of the Ministry of Finance; Abulrahman Abu Milhah, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Transport and Naval Navigation; Bandar Alwayli, Planning Expert of the Ministry of Economy and Planning; Khalid Albawardi, General President of Albawardi Group; Mohammad Alomran, Executive Director of Alomran Company, and Ibraheem Alisa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Savola for Packaging Systems.
