Quds city, Dec 26, SPA -- Israel is planning to build an additional 228 housing units in West Bank settlements, according to a tender published Monday in Israeli newspapers, in what would be a clear violation of its commitments under the U.S.-backed road map peace plan. The construction plan is to build 150 housing units in the settlement of Beitar Illit and another 78 homes in Efrat, according to the tender. Moreover, the internationally endorsed road map peace plan calls on Israel to halt all settlement construction, and the latest construction was likely to draw Palestinian criticism, the Associated Press reported.
