Malaysia hopes to take part in the construction of an expressway linking Hungary, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, the government said Sunday. Malaysia's Works Minister Samy Vellu left for Sarajevo, the Bosnian capital, Sunday to discuss the possible involvement of Malaysian companies and financial institutions in building and financing part of the 667-kilometer (415-mile) Corridor Vc Motorway project. "Malaysian contractors have expressed interest in the 312-kilometer (194-mile) stretch in Bosnia-Herzegovina," Vellu said in a statement carried by the national news agency, Bernama. The project is meant to connect Budapest, Hungary, to Ploce, Croatia, through Sarajevo. The Bosnian stretch is worth 14.3 billion ringgit (US$3.8 billion; ¤3.2 billion), which includes the cost of construction, land acquisition, design and supervision, the statement said.
