The Health Ministry has reiterated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is free from the virus of Bird Flu. "No cases of birds infected by the virus of the Bird Flu have so far been reported," said Dr Khaled Marghalani, the official spokesman for the Health Ministry in a statement to SPA adding that the Health Ministry has been following up epidemic developments of the disease. He pointed out that the Health Ministry has recently made available the required quantities of 'Tamiflu' which is used as a preventive measure and treatment. 'The health ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding with the company that manufactures this medicine, and under the memorandum the company will make the required quantities of this medicine available in case of detection of cases affected by this viral disease in the country," he said. It is worth mentioning that the health ministry has taken the required precautionary measures at the Kingdom's entry points to prevent the spread of the disease in the country.
