Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Chairman Mar'ie Muhammad said 200 people died of chronic diseases every day in the past three years in Indonesia, "ANTARA" news agency reported. "The government has to move fast to improve the people's health rate," he told the press after opening a local PMI meeting on Saturday. He said among the efforts the government should make was the National Immunization Week (PIN) for polio and measles. He also called on the government to be more alert to outbreaks of diseases, including malaria and dengue which were caused by poor environments.
