The Tenth conference of ministers of higher education and scientific research in the Arab world ended here on Thursday its two-day wide-ranging deliberations. The delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the conference, which was held in the Yemeni City of Taiz was headed by minister of higher education Dr Khalid Al-Anqari. The Yemeni minister of higher education and scientific research Dr Abdulwahab Rawih said the resolutions adopted by the conference aimed at enhancing the role of the institutions of higher education and scientific research in the Arab world. On his part, Director General of the Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALESCO) Dr Al-Munji Bo-Sineina, in a statement to SPA, underlined the importance of the resolutions adopted by the conference and said if these resolutions were implemented, then education in the Arab world would be promoted and developed. The resolutions called for setting up an integrated strategy for the development of skills and innovation of students of general education and linking universities and research centers with data networks. Moreover, the resolutions called for enabling the institutions of higher education to contribute to the process of comprehensive and sustainable development in the Arab countries.
