Germany's President Horst Koehler appealed Saturday to Israelis and Palestinians to finally reach a peace settlement after more than six decades of war in an address to a two-day conference in Berlin called the European-Israeli Dialogue, according to DPA. "It's now a question of genuinely finding and following a peaceful path," he said in a text released before his keynote speech. Koehler, who as president does not directly influence government policy, said: "After more than six decades of war and conflicts, another opportunity on the road to peace must not be wasted." He appealed to European nations and the United States to placer greater priority on the Middle East peace issue.
