Arab League calls for release of Western hostages

Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa Saturday called for the swift release of the Western hostages curently held in Iraq, making special mention of German archaeologist Susanne Osthoff, DPA reported.
Moussa described the abduction of Osthoff with her driver as incomprehensible and completely unjustified in a statement issued by league headquarters in Cairo.
He urged the speedy release and return to their "families and countries" of Osthoff, 43, a Briton, two Canadians and an American, all kidnapped in late November.
