Saudi teams taking part in West Asian games, currently in progress in Doha, Qatar, won a number of medals, ranging from gold to bronze. In the tournament's first day, the Saudi handball team beat host Qatar in the opening of the tournament 30-23, heavy weight team won gold and silver through two of its players, javelin throwing team won bronze, and the swimming team won silver.
