Ten U.S. marines were killed by a roadside bomb attack near Fallujah that also injured 11 soldiers, a U.S. military spokesman said Friday. The attack took place on Thursday, and used several large artillery shells, the Baghdad-based spokesman said in a telephone interview with Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa. Seven of the 11 injured marines have returned to duty, he said. The improvised explosive device (IED) attack was launched on the Marines' regimental combat team eight, of the Second Marine Division. --SP 2335 Local Time 2035 GMT
