Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Interior Minister, said his recent visit to Pakistan has embodied the great attention given by the Saudi government and people to Pakistan. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Prince Ahmad hailed the efforts exerted by the Pakistani government to assist victims of the earthquake which recently hit Pakistan. He noted that the Saudi government had so far extended more than SR 1 billion worth assistance to victims of the earthquake, adding that more relief assistance will soon be sent to Pakistan. 'Pakistan has a special place in the hearts of the Saudis', he said. Meanwhile, Prince Ahmad denied whether he had reviewed with the Pakistani interior minister issues pertaining to combating terrorism. He noted that combating drugs and organized crime is a matter of cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Prince Ahmad pointed out that Pakistan has nothing to do with all forms of terrorism. Highlighting the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and Pakistan in issues pertaining to Hajj, Prince Ahmad noted that no epidemic diseases were so far reported in Pakistan. --more 1316 Local Time 1016 GMT
