The Regional Committee for Power Systems in the GCC Member States will organize, in cooperation with Riyadh Exhibitions Company and Qatar-based International Exhibitions Company, will organize a conference and an exhibition on November 27-29, 2005, in Doha. More than 300 Gulf, regional and international persons, who are specialized in electricity, will participate in the conference due to be inaugurated under the patronage of Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry Abdullah Al-Atiyyah. The participants of the conference are scheduled to exchange views on the latest technology in the field of energy generation and distribution. They will also review means for the development of the electricity sector in the GCC member states. Dr Anwar Mufti, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Committee for Power Systems in the GCC Member States, said the participants of the conference will review more than 40 papers presented by specialists, academicians, experts, researchers and investors from the various parts of the world. They will focus on the present and future of the electricity industry in the Gulf states as well as the possible means for the development of this sector', he noted.
