Japanese Premier Junichiro Koizumi has invited ambassadors of 44 Islamic countries to attend a breaking-fast party at his official headquarters here on Monday. It is considered the first gesture of its kind by a Japanese premier. In its statement, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said that the invitation aims at deepening Koizumi's understanding of Islamic culture and promoting mutual understanding and dialogue between Japan and the Muslim world.
