Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf Tuesday said his government had decided to allow any number of Kashmiris from across the border to meet and help their quake-affected people - but ruled out Indian army helpers crossing, according to DPA. In a nationwide address, Musharraf said there could be no movement by Indian troops across the Line of Control (LoC) to help quake- affected people in Pakistan-administered Kashmir region. "We can accept relief goods from India but cannot allow their troops (to enter Pakistan's Kashmir region after crossing the LoC)," Musharraf said in his second nationwide address in a week. He said the issue had its own sensitivity and "we cannot accept troops from across the Line of Control (LoC)." Musharraf also reiterated that Pakistan could not accept Indian helicopters with pilots to carry out relief missions to the quake- devastated areas. "We have told them (Indians) yesterday that if they give helicopters to us to be flown by our pilots, then that is acceptable to us," he said. Misunderstandings in this regard should be removed. --More 2320 Local Time 2020 GMT
