Tribal militants reportedly ambushed a bus and used machetes to kill 22 people from a rival ethnic group in India's remote northeast on Monday, an official said. Another five people were injured in the attack in the village of Zirikindeng in Assam, a northeastern state, said D. D. Tripathi, a magistrate in the Karbi Anglong district, where the assault took place. The Associated Press quoted Police as saying that the militants were reportedly from the Dimasa tribe, which has in recent months fought with militia from the rival Karbi tribe, the group that all those killed belonged to.
