The third annual Gulf Leadership Forum will be held at the Emirates Palace on April 16 and 17 under the patronage of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Education. This was announced by Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Director General of Abu Dhabi, at a press conference held at the ADCCI premises today. The press conference was also attended by Dr. Jamal Abdulla Al Daidje, General Secretary of the Leadership Forum. Mohammad Omar Abdullah said that this significant conference would be attended by delegations representing the six GCC countries, including ministers of economy, finance, industry, communications and health, according to an ADCCI statement. Besides, heads of the central of information and communication bodies of these countries, Chief Executive Officers of banks, financial and investment organizations would take part in the conference, he said. "The Gulf Leadership Forum is seeking to prepare and mould the skills of a young generation of Gulf leaders with a strategic vision and a constructive and clear-cut ideology that might be able to deal with the latest economic and political developments taking place in the regional and international arena, and also with the changing era of information and globalization", Abdullah added. He said that the Forum had won special significance by blending principles and experiences and by organizing several events like seminars dealing with the prevailing situation and the development process in the gulf region based on a carefully adopted plan. "These seminars and events also dealt with the developments in the fields of information technology and their transfer and application in the Gulf countries, considering the region's particular needs and requirements," Abdullah was quoted as saying by the UAE news agency "WAM." He also said that the Forum would also focus on the administrative leadership both in the public and private sectors of the Gulf countries with a view to bridge the gap between the older and the younger generation of leaders to face the challenges of the future and improve their performance and caliber. Such an approach would improve the efficiency and productivity of the domestic institutions, he added. Addressing the press conference, Dr. Daije said that Forum would come out with a vision and a mission to build a community, enjoying a distinct position in knowledge and information and in all other possible spheres.
