A roadside bomb planted by insurgents on a main road in Talibiya eastern Baghdad destroyed a passing U.S. vehicle, eyewitnesses said, according to DPA. The witnesses said the explosion of the bomb also wounded the driver. Further details were not immediately available. In Haweija, south of Kirkuk, gunmen attacked the residence of the city police chief, injuring two of his bodyguards, said the police. The police said the police chief escaped the attack unharmed. On the main road between Toz Khormato and Salman Bek south of Kirkuk, insurgents blew up an Improvised Explosive Device while a U.S. convoy was passing by. The police said one U.S. humvee was reported burning. Police gave no further details.
