U.S. stocks and oil prices were little changed Thursday. Crude oil for September delivery was up 2 cents to 63.27 a barrel in New York, well below last week's record highs but still at levels that have experts worrying that energy costs could dampen the U.S. economy. The blue-chip Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 4.22 points, or 0.04 per cent, to 10,554.93. The broader Standard & Poor's 500 Index dipped 1.22 points, or 0.1 per cent, to 1,219.02. The technology- heavy Nasdaq Composite Index fell 9.07 points, or 0.42 per cent, to 2,136.08. On currency markets, the dollar gained against the euro, rising to 82.10 euro cents from 81.51 euro cents on Wednesday. The U.S. currency also was up against the Japanese yen, closing at 110.46 yen from 109.93 yen on Wednesday. Gold fell 2.35 dollars to 439.65 dollars per fine ounce.
