The peace process in Sri Lanka must continue despite the assassination of Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, the EU Commissioner for External Relations said Saturday, according to DPA. "This was truly a vicious terrorist act and its perpetrators must be brought to justice," said Benita Ferrero-Waldner in Brussels. It was the killers' clear intention to restart the conflict in Sri Lanka, she said, urging the parties to a three-year-old truce in Sri Lanka to continue their dialogue. "We must all honour the passing of Foreign Minister Kadirgamar by continuing his work for peace and maintaining the ceasefire," she said.
