Four suspected Taliban fighters were killed in two separate clashes with U.S. and Afghan forces in southern Afghanistan, the U.S. military said in a statement Saturday, according to DPA. "Three enemy combatants were killed and two Afghan National Police were wounded during a firefight near the city of Deh Rahwod in southern Afghanistan's Uruzgan province on August 12," the statement read. The fighting occurred when U.S. and Afghan forces patrolling the area encountered an unknown number of suspected Taliban militants. A number of militants were detained following Friday's incident, the statement added. A suspected Taliban militant was also killed in an attack Friday on a convoy carrying U.S. and Afghan troops south of Kabul, the U.S. military said in a separate statement.
