A commuter train plowed into the back of a long-distance train Monday, injuring 38 people in the accident just outside of central Warsaw, a Polish railway spokeswoman said. There were no fatalities and all of the injured were in stable condition, with most being treated for minor head wounds, spokeswoman Anna Rosiek said. Most of those hurt were on the vacation sleeper train traveling between the southern mountain resort of Zakopane and the Baltic port city of Gdynia. The commuter train was moving at 30 kilometers (18 miles) per hour when it hit the back of the second train, which was waiting at a traffic light between two Warsaw stations, at 5:50 a.m. (0350GMT). A special commission of railway experts, police and a state prosecutor was investigating the cause of the collision, Rosiek was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.
