A bomb exploded early Sunday in the troubled Russian region of Dagestan, wounding three police officers passing in a patrol car, a police spokeswoman said. The blast hit around 3:30 a.m. (1130 GMT Saturday) in the Dagestani capital, Makhachkala, said spokeswoman Marina Rasulova, leaving the three officers with concussions and other light wounds. The device was placed in an urn that had been buried in the dirt under the road, she was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.
