Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, made a telephone call today to President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, condemning the assassination of Egypt's head of diplomatic mission in Iraq Ihab Alshareef by Iraqi insurgents. During the conversation, the Crown Prince conveyed the condolences of the king, government and people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to President Mubarak, the family of the victim and the Egyptian people on the sad loss of the Egyptian senior diplomat. Crown Prince Abdullah also confirmed the strong support of the Kingdom f Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, for Egypt in confronting any terrorist act. Crown Prince Abdullah also reaffirmed that such terror acts have nothing to do with true Islam. On the other hand, Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, made a similar telephone call to President Mubarak, condemning the crime, offering sympathy to the family of Ihab Alshareef and expressing the support of the Kingdom for Egypt in fighting terrorism. On his part, President Mubarak expressed appreciation for the sincere fraternal feelings of Crown Prince Abdullah and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz respectively and confirmed the determination of Egypt in solidarity of its sisterly and friendly countries to continue confronting the phenomenon of terrorism and terror groups.
