U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice today called for greater effort to end discrimination against Muslims in Europe, as part of a broader call for liberty and human rights around the world. Speaking at the 14th annual session of the parliamentary assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Rice marked the approaching 30th anniversary of the Helsinki Accords that established the human rights credentials of the OSCE. "Even as we work to resolve old conflicts, we must work together to address the new transnational security threat from terrorism," she said. "There is much that we still must do within our OSCE community to combat anti-Semitism and other forms of discrimination, including discrimination against Muslims, and to put an end to trafficking in persons. There is work to be done on behalf of women's rights and the education of girls."
