As many as 36 centers in various parts of the Kingdom will receive from today applications from secondary school graduates to join the Jeddah-based Saudi Japanese Automobile High Institute (SJAHI), an official announcement said yesterday. The applicants must have a major in science. Salim Al-Asmarei, director of SJAHI, said his institute would admit applicants after conducting written tests and personal interviews. The applicant must be a Saudi with good marks in English. His age should not exceed 20 years and must pass the academic and medical tests. The institute offers jobs to students with one of its sponsoring companies, a monthly stipend of SR1,200, medical insurance, accommodation and other incentives such as free Internet access and sports facilities. The institute's diploma is equivalent to diplomas provided by the Kingdom's technical colleges, Asmarei was quoted as saying by Arab News. --MORE 1019 Local Time 0719 GMT
