Italian judges convict 10 former members of the Nazi SS for wartime massacre

Italian judges on Wednesday convicted 10 former members of the Nazi SS accused of taking part in a 1944 massacre of more than 500 villagers in northern Italy, and sentenced them to life in prison, the Italian news agency ANSA said.
The verdict was handed down after about seven hours of
deliberations. The defendants, all German men, were being
tried in absentia in the Italian town of La Spezia, AP reported.
