Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf flew back home Sunday night after a week-long visit to Australia and New Zealand, officials said. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and other high-ranking officials received the president at the Chaklala Air Base near Islamabad. While coming back from his foreign tour, Musharraf had a stopover in Thailand where he met Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and discussed means of enhancing bilateral ties through greater trade and economic cooperation. Shinawatra expressed support for Pakistan's full dialogue partnership with The Association for Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Musharraf thanked the Thai Prime Minister for extending support in this regard saying that Pakistan want to develop its trade and economic relations with ASEAN members as a part of its vision East Asia. The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest including Pakistan-India relations and fight against terrorism. They also discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism.
