The U.S. House of Representatives ignored White House objections and voted on Friday to cut U.S. dues to the United Nations by up to half if the scandal-hit world body does not implement tough reforms, Reuters reported. Influential Republican lawmaker Henry Hyde of Illinois convinced 221 lawmakers to vote in favor of his U.N. bill while 184 were against it. Despite passing narrowly in the House it is unlikely to become law due to a lack of White House support and an uncertain future in the U.S. Senate. --SP 2338 Local Time 2038 GMT
