Afghan President Hamid Karzai has fallen sick with a stomach bug and has put off a scheduled visit to neighboring Tajikistan, an official from the president's palace said on Monday. The 47-year-old Karzai had been scheduled to travel on Monday for talks with Tajik authorities and to inaugurate a U.S.-built bridge linking the two countries. "He has a stomach flu and has been advised by the doctor to rest for a couple of days," Khaliq Ahmad, an official on Karzai's staff, told Reuters, adding that it was a minor health problem. The president planned to go to Tajikistan once he was feeling better, Ahmad said.
