A bus and a U.S. military vehicle crashed Saturday in southern Afghanistan, killing 10 Afghan civilians, police said. There were no American casualties in the accident on the highway from the southern city of Kandahar to the Pakistani border, said Abdul Wasai, the police chief for Spin Boldak district, where the accident occurred. The Associated Press quoted a U.S. military spokesman in Kabul, Lt. Col. Jerry O'Hara, as saying that he had not heard about the crash and was looking into the report. Wasai said U.S. troops had cordoned off the location of the accident. He said it was not clear how the crash occurred and that an investigation had been launched. No other details were available.
