A massive sandstorm blanketed Baghdad Saturday, cutting visibility to a few meters (yards) in the Iraqi capital. Hospitals reported that a few dozen people had so far been treated with respiratory problems. The storm was accompanied by very high winds and began just before dawn. It covered the city in a layer of fine dust. Temperatures also soared to above 40 degrees Celsius (104.00 Fahrenheit).
