The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia punched a ticket to the World Cup finals 2006 in Germany with a 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan on Wednesday before an overflowing crowd of 75,000 at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. The match was attended by Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, President of Youth Welfare and President of Saudi Football Association, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of Youth Welfare, Vice President of Saudi Football Association and Chairman of Teams Committee and a number of sports officials. The win gave the Kingdom 11 points from five games in Group A of the Asian qualifying and a fourth trip to the World Cup. In press statements, Prince Sultan bin Fahd and Prince Nawaf bin Faisal congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier on this occasion, stressing that sports achievements have been owing to the continual support provided by the government for sports and youth sector in the Kingdom.
