The U.S. will attempt to take another step closer to next year's World Cup finals in Germany when they visit Panama on Wednesday, a report carried by Reuters said. Panama may be bottom of the six-nation CONCACAF qualifying table, having taken only two points from four games, but coach Jose Hernandez says the Americans are not quite as fearsome on their travels as they are on home soil. "They don't play the same as they do at home," Hernandez told reporters. "They will be looking for one point and we hope to take advantage of that tomorrow." Panama were beaten 2-0 by Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday while the U.S., who are second in the group with nine points, defeated Costa Rica 3-0 in Salt Lake City. Top of the table Mexico (10 points) play Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday while third-placed Guatemala (four) visit fourth-placed Costa Rica (four). Panama were unlucky not to beat the U.S. at home in the semi-final round of the group stages last September after Roberto Brown's 69th-minute strike was cancelled out by Cobi Jones's last-gasp equaliser for the visitors. --More 2339 Local Time 2039 GMT
