Palestinian Finance Minister Salam Fayad was meeting Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos for talks Wednesday to discuss the Middle East peace process and ways for Spain to help the Palestinian National Authority. The Foreign Ministry said issues such as Spain's contribution to "revitalizing the economy in Palestinian territories" would also be discussed. "The visit comes at a crucial point in the peace process on the eve of the application of the Gaza disengagement plan and the staging of Palestinian legislative elections," the ministry said in a statement, circulated by The Associated Press. Prior to the midday meeting with Moratinos, Fayad met Industry Minister Jose Montilla and had a breakfast conference with journalists and Spanish business representatives.
