China's Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and his U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Wednesday discussed arrangements for visits by their countries' leaders, the government said. They spoke by phone while Li was on his way to Vladivostok, Russia, to meet with his Russian and Indian counterparts, China's official Xinhua News Agency said. Chinese President Hu Jintao plans to visit the United States before the end of the year, and U.S. President George W. Bush also will visit China, according to the Chinese government. Dates have not been set for the visits. The trip would be Hu's first to Washington as China's head of state. He last went to the United States in 2002 as vice president.
