Pakistan received $3.452 billion as remittances from its foreign workers during the first ten months of the current fiscal year (July, 2004 to April, 2005) as against $3.211 billion received in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year, Pakistan's central bank said. This registered an increase of $241 million or 7.50 per cent, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said. These remittances are sent by Pakistanis in the United States, Saudi Arabia and other member states of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council, The United Kingdom and other European Union (EU) countries.
