Quds city, May 19, SPA -- Palestinians firing mortars will automatically be targeted by the Israeli military, defense chiefs decided Thursday, in response to two days of shelling by Palestinian extremists. The decision marks a further erosion of an Israeli-Palestinian cease-fire, according to a report of The Associated Press. It was taken at a meeting of Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, his army chief and the head of the Shin Bet security service. After the truce was declared in February, Israel had held its fire, not responding automatically to Palestinian shelling. However, on Wednesday, Israel fired a missile at Palestinian extremists involved in shelling.
