Sony and Nintendo are also pushing game developers to flesh out their offerings for the companies' latest handheld gaming machines, the PSP and DS, both of which launched in the past year. Online gaming is also gaining more prominence, as more and more players hook up their machines to the Internet to compete and play games with each other online.
